Raw Recipe

FULLYRAW CHERRY CHEESECAKE
Raw Vegan Cherry Cheesecake! Low-fat, dairy free, chemical free, and delicious! Made with nature’s sweetness, this healthy dessert is delectable and divine! Ready for a slice?! Let’s put the cherry…on top!  :-P 


There are 5 main steps (or layers) to making this recipe:


STEP 1: THE CRUST
Ingredients for the crust:
  • 2 cups of dried mulberries
  • 2 cups of dried figs
  • 1.5 cups of pitted dates


Place all ingredients into your food processor and pulse until it reaches a crumbly consistency. When ready, place your ingredients into your pie pan and push in the crust. 


STEP 2: CASHEW MYLK (OPTIONAL)
Ingredients for the cashew mylk:
  • Approximately 4 cups of cashews, soaked in coconut water or Evamor water for added sweetness.


Run ingredients through your juicer, and voila! You have cashew mylk! Place your mylk over to the side, and we will use it in a moment. 


STEP 3: THE “CHEESECAKE” FILLING
Ingredients for the “cheesecake” filling:
  • 7-10 frozen ripe bananas
  • 2 cups of cashew mylk 
  • 1 Tbsp. Cinnamon
  • 1 vanilla bean 


Blend all ingredients in a high powered blender like a Vitamix until it reaches an ice cream consistency. When ready, pour the ice cream into a mixing bowl, place in freezer, and let it set while we get ready to make our cherry swirl filling! 


STEP 4: THE CHERRY GLAZE
In order to finish making the cheesecake filling, we need to make our cherry glaze! We will mix the cherry glaze with the cheesecake filling to make a cherry swirl! 
Ingredients for the cherry glaze:
  • Approximately 3 lbs of pitted cherries (If you don’t want to take the time to pit the cherries, you can also use frozen, organic cherries).
  • 1 lb of pitted dates 


Blend these ingredients together in a Vitamix blender or any other high speed blender of your choice. When ready, take the cheesecake filling out of the freezer and pour in the cherry glaze. Mix the 2 colored fillings together using a spatula and create a red and white SWIRL! After you have swirled the two together, go ahead and add the filling into the pie pan on top of the crust. If you have extra cherry glaze, go ahead and pour that on top of the middle layer filling. 


STEP 5: PUT THE CHERRIES…ON TOP! 
Last but not least, use your left over cherries and decorate them beautifully on top of your cheesecake! When you are finished, slide your cheesecake into the freezer for approximtately 4-6 hours. When ready, take it out, pull off the pie pan, and cut yourself a beautiful slice to eat!

Fully Raw Kristina takes a bit of a different approach alongside the vegan life style. She is not aggressive nor pushy and more of a nutrition analysis rather than a fitness and nutrition inspirer. She enjoys going to meetings and rep to help influence people on living  a healthy lifestyle full of several fruits and veggies. However unlike Free lee who is only raw till 4, Kristina is completely raw. What is being raw?? Raw food is, technically speaking, food that has not been heated above 48 degrees centigrade (117 degrees Fahrenheit). Therefore Kristina its nothing but food in its natural state. By doing this and promoting such a diet she has seen seen many results. She shares several photos and medias to demonstrate how her all vegan lifestyle changed people life all around the world- for the better. By helping and promoting this vegan life style she has some peoples cured skin disease, acne and more. She has even cured herself. (check out the photo below) and she's never going back!. 
Kristina is completely non for profit, and works at a co-op to promote organic fruit and organic living. The co-op began with 12 individuals in my living room, and it is now the biggest co-op in Houston, TX with over 3000 families!  We provide families and individuals with all organic, fresh, ripe, raw, and local produce at wholesale cost. To this day, it is volunteer run, and not even I write myself a paycheck. It was created to change this world, and so it shall!  
She promotes that eating vegan and being completely natural, avoiding anything processed, packaged, not organic....

The Banana Girl

The women who made eating “30” bananas a day a trend… She refers to her fans as “banana girls”. Free lee a hardcore vegan, who is not only popular on instagram, but her daily aggressive and opinionated youtube videos rack up a few views. Her videos are so offensive even causing her to be sued! Freely consumes a high carb, high calorie and high glucose diet showing the imense quantities of food she inhales on a daily basis while still maintaining her slim figure. The lifestyle Freelee promotes is a fully organic, non processed, non animal hurting diet. One of Freelee's favourite sweet snacks is a smoothie with 20 dates and sugar cane! Or a banana smoothie with as many  bananas she can fit in the blender. There is 20 calories in 1 date, thats 100 grams of sugar. Thats 400 calories in one smoothie for one snack. There is also around 90 calories in a banana, by eating 30 bananas she is consuming 3000 calories and 360 grams of sugar. Meanwhile the daily recommended sugar is 37.5 grams. Free lee demonstrates that even though this is definitely not recommended by food guides and government standards, she consumes this and still lives a healthy life style. Free lees goal is to show women all around the world that eating high quantities of fruit is good for you, and she is living proof.
(or she just has a really fast metabolism). In her spare time, Free lee spends countless hours biking around Australia on her 10,000 dollar bike! Could've just bought a car for that price! Not only does Free lee believe eating animals is spiritually immoral but also pollutes your body. 
Although this diet is very different from the norm, Free lee believes living this lifestyle is the only right one and tries to convey this message to women all around the world.

Free lee called Kayla Itsine's diet a waste of money where ignorant people pay to starve themselves. In order to defend her brand and company, kayla stepped up and filed a law suit. It is clear Freelee believes the only right diet is veganism.

A few months ago my mom spent 120$ on an online ebook. I became very intrigued of what type of book would have a cost of 120$! I figured it mustve been the best book ever. Too my surprise this isn't a type of ebook you read for entertainment… but  “Bikini body guide” (a diet and exercise guide)! My first thoughts were “what a waste of money”. After a few months when my mom became more energetic and lost a bunch of weight and gained muscle, I changed my mind. I began following the creator of these guides on Instagram @Kaylaitsines. Kayla, an Aussie all girls personal trainer who dedicates her time in order to try and make women all around the world fit. In order to push her passion for fitness and educate and help women she created a guide in order to give women all the tools to become "bikini ready" in twelve weeks. This guide is complete with a 12 week workout routine and a HELP diet! No excuses now!  However this guide is going to cost you an arm and a leg, they'll get a little bit more muscly after! After all can you really put a price on health?? Kayla understands some people will not be able to afford her guide and offers to email daily tips and keeps up a blog of her own (link above). Sometimes kayla will email or post emails for free for girls to try it out! I personally would highly recommend the guide as it is fun, unique, and makes you work very hard to achieve a goal! If your paying 120$ for a guide it makes you feel almost obligated to stick to it!

 All though Kayla also has quite a few selfies showing off her thin body and toned abs and arms, she focuses on mostly the transformations of her followers. Several women who have completed the guide share their results with Kayla, who then reposts it on her account. Kayla is very proud of each client who transforms their body and praises them for her 2.6 million followers to see. While searching around Instagram I found several loyal fans of kayla whom have made their own fitness accounts and post about their journey on a daily basis. All these girls have a strong support system for each other even though they may not know each other or live halfway across the world, they connect online and offer each other motivation and support.

As you can see from the transformation picture below; Kayla focuses on a healthy body, its not always about loosing weight. Its about getting healthy, and she has made it very clear thats her goal. She's not afraid to show personal stories about herself and connect with her fans.
Sometimes Kayla hosts a free boot camp for women who live in Australia. This is known to get quite big, with more than a thousand girls showing up to work out, and take pictures with her after!

Jen Selter

She started her career on Instagram, and is now known world wide. You can find her on news papers, magazines, in interviews or “seltering” (posing) in her hometown Long Island, New york. Jen Selter who is known for her huge and muscular booty, daily entertains her 5.9 million instagram followers with pictures in tight workout clothes or bikinis while flexing and sticking out her bum. Jen Selter has about 550 photos (which is rapidly increasing as the day progresses).                                                                  Just by scanning through her pictures I would say about 90% of these photos are too showcase her round and thick butt. Jen Selter started her Instagram account about five years ago and says her goal is to inspire women all around the world to work for a big healthy bottom. Some of her motivating captions include “#justsquat”, “Your not going to get the butt you want while sitting on it”. Personally, I'm not a huge fan of Jen’s because I feel she's a little vain (anyone who has 550 pictures of just themselves and their bum with stupid captions is vain). However, she works extremely hard for her body with an intention to motivate others. Sometimes she posts a daily challenge of quick workouts her followers can join in on. When someone so popular and trendy pushes a whole population of young (mostly female) followers, to be fit is definitely respectable. This a great way to try and push people to get up and get moving and make it the cool thing to do!

Even though Jen has originally became famous through working out and her Instagram page, she takes some time off to hang out with her mom and participate in Vanity Fair Magazine. Jen's mom has also become popular on Instagram for living a healthy lifestyle and looking just as good as Jen + a few years. @MamaSelter on Instagram!

Instagram - New way to get fit

Everywhere you turn it seems people are on their phones; in class, at the gym, shopping, at work… Many argue the addiction and growing obsession with social media is a bad thing. I disagree, I believe social media has a lot to offer, and can make life easier and more interesting with the never ending easily accessible content. An area that has grown because of social media, and now is a bigger tend then ever before is fitness and health. Yes, theres several articles that have a negative focus of obesity, bad diets… However their are positive motivation from sites like Instagram.  Before I joined Instagram I had not been greatly exposed to muscular and fit women. Now  everyday when I scroll down my Instagram feed, or go to the “discover centre", I find pictures of  women with wash board abs and toned muscular legs flexing in their tight Nike pros and vibrant sports bras. Social media has created a new trend and grown to inspire people all over the world and motivate individuals to become a fitter and better versions of themselves. Women share tips from their accounts about diet exercise in order to give others the tools and motivation they need in order to become fit themselves. Athletes with all types and sizes of fit and healthy bodies are largely followed and idolized by women all around the world who also have a goal of living a healthy lifestyle. This is where they show off their transformations, dedication and passion for taking care of themselves by eating nutritious food and working out daily.  Some of the most popular fitness motivators inspirations that I follow personally are; Jen Selter, Kayla Itsines, Freelee the Banana Girls and Fully Raw Kristina. These women all have different perspectives of diet, exercise and lifestyle. I will be comparing all of them and their different take on being fit. Even though they all share a goal of motivating others and living the healthiest lifestyle they can.
